Paul F. Armstrong, M.D.

Paul F. Armstrong, M.D. Born in Cuyahoga County, Ohio in 1954, Dr. Armstrong graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kenyon College in 1976. He graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1980, and completed his residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in 1981. Dr. Armstrong has been licensed with the State Medical Board since 1984, certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1986, and received FLEX National Certification in 1984. He is a member of the Hancock County Medical Society and holds privileges at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

He specializes in general ophthalmology, glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, macular degeneration diagnosis and treatment, and diabetic retinopathy diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Armstrong moved to Findlay with his wife Marjorie in 1984, when our practice was still located at 400 West Sandusky Street.

Dr. Armstrong enjoys woodworking, and has done much of the fine carpentry work in both our former and present locations.


Kurt L. Ebersole, O.D.

Kurt L. Ebersole, O.D. A third generation Findlay native, Dr. Ebersole graduated from Findlay Senior High School in 1971. He attended Bowling Green State University and graduated in 1975 with a B.S. in Biology. Following graduation, he was accepted into The Ohio State University College of Optometry graduating with the Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree in 1979. He has been in practice in Findlay since September of 1979.

Dr. Ebersole and his wife Jane believe in being active in the community and both have served on numbers of committees and boards throughout the years. He was president of the Findlay Lions Club in 1985 and chairman of the Lutheran Social Services Foundation Board in 2003. He is currently serving on the LSS southern region advisory board, is a member of the church council of First Lutheran Church in Findlay and is vice president of the Falcon Club at BGSU.

Dr. Ebersole is a member of the Ohio Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association and lives in Findlay.


Jack G.G. Hendershot. Jr., M.D.

Jack G.G. Hendershot. Jr., M.D. Dr. Jack Hendershot graduated summa cum laude from Capital University in 1970, received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine with honors, including the Eli G. Alcorn prize for proficiency in Ophthalmology, in 1973; and completed an Ophthalmology Residency at the Ohio State University in 1977, serving as Chief Resident in his third year.

Dr. Hendershot entered private practice at the Weber Medical Clinic in Illinois until returning to Ohio to become founding partner of Spectrum Eye Care in 1979. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Ohio State Medical Association, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive surgeons and the Hancock County Medical Society. He maintains surgical staff privileges at Findlay Surgery Center, Wyandot Memorial Hospital, and Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Dr. Hendershot has served on numerous boards including the Northwest Ohio Juvenile Diabetes Association, the local chapter of the Lupus Society, the Ohio Ophthalmology Society, and the Findlay Surgery Center.

Dr. Jack Hendershot introduced multiple new eye surgery techniques in Findlay including the first

He and his wife, Candace, have two grown sons. He enjoys skiing, fishing, hunting, and travel.


Stephen H. Orr, M.D.

Stephen H. Orr, M.D. Dr. Orr grew up near Dayton Ohio and graduated from Miami University. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University of Medicine in 1993. Dr. Orr completed his Ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University, during which time he spent three months training at Wirral Hospital in Arrowe Park, in England. He was admitted to the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1999.

Dr. Orr joined the Spectrum Eye Care team in 2001. He performs no-stitch, topical anesthesia cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, as well as refractive surgery. Dr. Orr also provides non-surgical ophthalmologic care for acute and chronic eye diseases, in addition to routine preventative eye care.

Dr. Orr is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association. He is currently the vice president of the Hancock County Medical Society. He is also a delegate to the Ohio State Medical Association. Dr. Orr is an active member on the board of the Findlay Surgery Center. He is an active member of the Blanchard Valley Health Association, serving on the Continuing Medical Education and Medical Informatics committees. He is an active member of the Lima/MCO Health Education Center (LAHEC) board as well. Dr. Orr is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Medical University of Toledo. He frequently mentors medical students and resident physicians in his office at Spectrum Eye Care.

Dr. Orr and his wife, Dr. Ami Orr, live in Findlay with their twins, Katie and Josh. The family has also hosted international exchange students from Japan, Germany and Russia. Dr. Orr enjoys riding his bicycle in his free time.


J. Scott Stewart, O.D.

J. Scott Stewart, O.D. J. Scott Stewart, O. D. joined Spectrum Eye Care in 1999. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Cincinnati and his Doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1979.

He has been active in private practice in Perrysburg since 1979 and taught Ocular Anatomy and Ophthalmic Optics at Owens Community College for 20 years.

He is a member of the American Optometric Association and has served as the Governor of the Toledo Area Optometric Society.

Dr. Stewart and his wife Ginny reside in Perrysburg. They enjoy tennis, sailing and spending time with their granddaughter Piper and two sons Rob and Phil.
